Bihar Veterinary Council is a statutory body established under the Indian Veterinary Council Act 1984. Firstly it was notified in the year  1985-86 vide Government Order No. 9755 dated 29.10.1985 of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department, Govt. of Bihar. The working office of the "Establishment of Veterinary Council" started functioning in accordance with the Gazette Notification  No. 234, dated 02^nd July, 1998..
