The Bihar State Veterinary Council has its own land but not building. The land measuring 1.13 Acres has been provided by the Department of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Bihar vide memo no. 385 dated 13.01.1988.

The Bihar State Veterinary Council office is presently functioning in a separate government building temporarily provided by the Department of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Bihar since April 2014. (Quarter no. 01, Road no. 09, Bihar Veterinary College Campus, Patna-800014 being allocated vide office order no. 84 memo no. 544, dated 04.4.2014 of IAHP). It is maintained by the state building construction department.

The Bihar State Veterinary Council has been constituted under Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 and rules framed vide Bihar Gazette notification no. 234 dated 02.06.1998.

Since the establishment of the Bihar State Veterinary Council, the president of the council has never been elected. Department of Animal and Fisheries Resources, Bihar has nominated the members of the state council. One senior most member has been unanimously elected as the president.
